Softwood is a cheap and durable type of wood. It is widely used for fencing nature reserves with fences and posts. In addition, it is frequently used for groundworks and water engineering projects.

That depends on many different circumstances. What type of soil are the piles in? Is this soil permanently moist or not? And what thickness of poles are used? The thicker the posts, the more heartwood the post contains and the longer the post will last. Softwood falls in durability class 4-5 which generally means the posts will last 5-10 years.

Both chestnut wood and robinia wood are more durable than softwood. Softwood is the lowest in durability, but is a lot more favourable in price. Chestnut wood is a nice alternative for a more durable post that lasts longer. Robinia wood is even slightly more durable. These are again only have a more whimsical design. Chestnut wood is again somewhat more favourably priced.

Softwood comes from coniferous trees, such as spruce, pine, fir and larch. Originally, we get most softwood from the Ardennes.

After the order is placed and payment made, it takes approximately 3 to 4 working days for the products to be delivered.

We deliver in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany

You can also collect your order from our premises in Hierden. Please do indicate in advance when you want to come, and we will make sure the order is ready for you.

If you wish to return the products within 2 weeks of delivery, this is possible. However, you will have to arrange the return and pay the costs yourself. Products can only be returned if you have not made any adjustments/changes.

Shipping costs in the Netherlands are standard € 150 excl VAT (except for the islands). Deliveries in Belgium are € 250 excluding VAT
