Wooden rafters

Wooden rafters, also known as purlins, can be supplied in both round timber and sawn timber. As the name suggests, rafters have traditionally been used in roof constructions. Their function is to transfer the weight of the roofing material to the load-bearing timber structures. Van Biezen Hout supplies round wooden rafters in spruce, and in larch and Douglas fir. We peel the purlins to a length of 10 metres. If desired, we can also saw a flat side. A peeled rafter is usually supplied with a nominal diameter of 7/8 cm, but poles with a different pointed diameter are also available on request. The taper of a pole is on average 0.75 cm per linear metre.

Scouting poles

For scouting groups, we regularly supply planed round timber. Rafters are exceptionally suitable for use as pioneering poles.
