Features of Douglas milled posts
Sustainable and strong Douglas is one of the hardest European softwoods and lasts 10-15 years untreated (even longer with treatment or placement above ground).
Milled surface – Milling produces posts that are perfectly round or square with a smooth, even surface. This gives a neat appearance and makes them easier to work with.
Natural colour Douglas fir has a warm reddish-brown colour that weathers to a silver-grey hue over time.
Weatherproof – By its nature, Douglas contains resins and substances that make the wood more resistant to moisture and fungi than, for example, spruce or pine.
Stable - Less likely to warp than many other softwoods, especially when properly dried.
Versatile - Suitable for fences, pergolas, canopies, garden gates and railings, amongst others.
Environmentally friendly – European wood, often sourced from sustainably managed forests.
